I love a Welsh Wedding, they are lush!  Splitting my time between South Pembrokeshire and the Midlands as I do, the 'Grand Plan' is always to live in Pembs one day so anyone with a wedding down that way I will leap at the chance to come and hang out with you and yours and photograph your amazing celebrations.  When Joe and Bethan's contacted me about their wedding at Canada Lodge and Lake just outside Cardiff I was super chuffed to say the least!

As with all my brides and grooms we met up in person first and then kept in touch via email and spoke a couple more times before the wedding to ensure I had all the details of the day including group shots and names of special people I needed to capture on film.

Canada Lodge is situated on the edge of a lake so the dining room is downstairs on a level with the lake and lawn area, but the main entrance is above where most couples choose to have their ceremony.  Guests enter into this main ceremony room as you come through the entrance and into a modern, light room with a huge vaulted ceiling - perfect for light and airy photography. There is a balcony around the edge where eveyone gathered and stood in the sunshine before the ceremony.

The ceremony was perfect, really emotional.  It was beautifully done by lovely registrars who made it very personal. Bethan and Joe chose two readigns oen in English and one in Welsh that had us all in more tears befoe the end of the ceremony!

Afterwards we headed outside and down the stairs to the lake and lawn area for some confetti and group photos and gave the guests more hanging out time before heading on downstairs for amazing food. I am a sucker for a good speech and these didn't disappoint - plenty of photo opportunities for more laughter, shock and tears of joy!

We popped out for some portraits of just the couple by the lakeside and didn't need to venture far to get some lovely relaxed and creative shots.

I then stayed well into the night as their band were amazing and frankly I didn't want to stop dancing! A lot of fun was had by all - as I think you'll agree is evidenced in these pics.  It's a stunning venue and if you click on the pic below you can see lots more photos. xx
